This Friday the  3rd of June 2022 marks The Platinum Jubilee for Her Majesty The Queen. A platinum jubilee is a celebration held to mark an anniversary, usually refers to a 70th anniversary. Her Majesty will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, having acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old.

The Monarchy was  a key figure in the enforcement of law and the establishment of legal systems in different areas of the UK. The Monarchy are known as the ‘Fount of Justice’. However, while no longer administering justice in a practical way, the Monarchy today still retains an important symbolic role as a figure in whose name justice is carried out.  As well as law and order is maintained.

The celebrations have taken place all year long throughout the United Kingdom, at events such as the Commonwealth and around the world. This has allowed communities to come together globally to celebrate The Queen’s historic reign. Throughout the year, Her Majesty and members of the Royal Family have travelled around the country to undertake a variety of engagements to mark this historic occasion.

What will The Platinum Jubilee weekend consist of?

The Platinum Jubilee Weekend with consist of an extended bank holiday.  This will begin on  Thursday 2nd of June to Sunday 5th of June. This will allow people all cross the UK to come together to celebrate the  milestone. In addition to this, across the four days the celebrations will include public events, community activities. These events will include: The Queen’s Birthday Parade, Platinum Jubilee Beacons and more. There will also be national moments of reflections on The Queen’s 70 years of service.

Our offices will be closed the following dates for the long extended bank holiday and we will re-open as usual on Monday 6th of June at 9:00am
